Privacy policy

This policy explains what akiankarofsky.ai collects, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect what you type into our contact and newsletter forms, plus basic analytics about how the site gets used.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you fill in the contact form, we receive your name, your email address, the offering you selected under "I'm interested in," and anything you write in the message field.

Newsletter. When you sign up for the newsletter, in the footer or by ticking the box on the contact form, we receive your email address (and your name, if it came from the contact form). We use it only to send the newsletter, and every issue has a link to unsubscribe.

How you found us. The site records the campaign tags in the link you arrived on (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign), the site that referred you if you came from an external link, and the page you landed on first. This is kept in your browser's session storage and is attached to your message only if you submit the form. It is discarded when you close the tab.

Class sign-up. We receive your name, role, email, business name and type, how you heard of us, and your agreement to the class terms and license. We keep these in our class records (Notion) and use them to run your class and email you about it (through SendGrid). We also add your name and email to our newsletter list, and every issue has a link to unsubscribe.

Payments. Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them. Stripe tells us the amount paid and gives us a receipt link.

Colleagues you book for. If you book seats for colleagues, you give us their names and work emails. We use them only to send each person their booking and a link to confirm their own details.

Server logs. Our host, Netlify, records standard request data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, as any web server does.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to see how people find and move through the site — which pages get read, which links get clicked, and roughly where visitors come from. We use this to understand what's working, not to build a profile of you.

Google Analytics sets two cookies in your browser, _ga and _ga_FY951KQTT4. They hold a random identifier that lets Google tell a returning visitor from a new one, and they expire on their own after two years. They are the only cookies this site sets — we don't use cookies for advertising, and we don't have advertising features or Google Signals turned on.

Google processes this data on our behalf and under its own privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics across every site that uses it with Google's browser opt-out add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them won't affect how this site works.

What we don't do

We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for anyone else's marketing.

Your business's data stays yours. In the workshop you connect your own accounts and build on your own systems. AKKA does not receive, store, host, or process your customers' information or your operational data as part of that. This is covered in more detail under what you're building in the terms below.

How we use it

To reply to you, to run any session you register for, and to understand which of our efforts actually reach the owners we work with.

Who else touches it

  • Netlify hosts the site and receives contact form submissions and newsletter sign-ups on our behalf.
  • Mailchimp holds our newsletter list and sends the newsletter on our behalf.
  • Google Analytics measures site traffic on our behalf, as described above.
  • Our email provider delivers form notifications and our replies to you.

How long we keep it

We keep contact form submissions and correspondence for as long as we're working with you or may reasonably follow up, and records of paid engagements for as long as our tax and accounting obligations require.

Your choices

Email contact@akiankarofsky.ai and we'll tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. If you've asked us to stop contacting you, we will. To opt out of analytics, see the opt-out options above.

Security

We use reputable hosting and email providers and limit access to submissions to the two of us. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Children

This site is for business owners. It isn't directed at anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page reflects the current version.

Terms of service

Agreement

These terms govern your use of akiankarofsky.ai and your participation in AKKA's workshops, coaching group, and related offerings. By using the site or registering for a session, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site or register.

AKKA is operated out of the Watertown, Massachusetts area. Contact: contact@akiankarofsky.ai.

What AKKA provides

AKKA offers education, coaching, and advisory services for owners and operators of small and mid-size businesses, including:

  • The full-day workshop ("AKKA: Chief of Staff") — a live, instructor-led session in a small group where you build your own AI chief of staff on your own laptop, using your own accounts and systems.
  • The weekly coaching group — a recurring live group coaching session plus a recorded library of past main sessions.
  • Private workshops and implementation services — custom engagements scoped and agreed separately with individual companies.

What you're building, and what AKKA does and doesn't do

During the workshop, you connect your own accounts (email, calendar, and business software such as your CRM, accounting, or field service tools) and build a system using your own data. AKKA does not receive, store, host, or process your business's operational or customer data as part of this. What you build runs on your own accounts and systems, and you remain responsible for it, including for your own compliance with any laws or contracts that apply to your customer data.

AKKA is not a data processor of your business's customer or operational data, and nothing in the workshop or coaching group constitutes AKKA hosting, managing, or maintaining that data on your behalf.

Registration and payment

You book and pay on this site. Card payments are taken at booking through Stripe; teams can choose an invoice, due within 7 days or 2 days before the class, whichever is sooner. Your seats are held while you pay: for an hour at checkout, or until an invoice's due date.

The workshop. Prices are as listed at registration. Paying, cancellations, substitutions, and what is and isn't included are governed by the class terms you accept when you sign up. Where those terms and this page differ, the class terms govern.

Weekly coaching group. Billed monthly. You can cancel at any time; your access continues through the end of the period you've already paid for, and we don't provide prorated refunds for partial months. Pricing is as listed when you join.

Recording and confidentiality

The workshop is not recorded. No recording, no transcript, no screen capture. What we see on your screen during the day and what we do about it is set out in our confidentiality commitment.

Recording the coaching group. The main portion of weekly coaching group sessions is recorded and kept in a members-only library. By participating in the main session, you consent to being recorded if you're on camera or speaking. Breakout room discussions are not recorded.

Confidentiality among members. Coaching sessions include other business owners discussing their own businesses. You agree to keep confidential anything shared by other members or AKKA that isn't already public, and not to record, screenshot, or redistribute session content (including the library) outside the group.

Your own information. You're responsible for what you choose to disclose during a session, including in breakout rooms. AKKA isn't responsible for other members' use of information you voluntarily share with them.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Share your coaching group membership, login, or session access with someone who hasn't registered
  • Use the site or sessions for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to disrupt, hack, or reverse-engineer the site

No professional advice

AKKA provides business education and coaching. Nothing we say in a workshop, coaching session, or on this site is legal, tax, accounting, or professional advice specific to your business. You're responsible for your own business decisions, including which tools you adopt and how you configure them.

Intellectual property

Course materials, templates, session recordings, and site content are owned by AKKA and provided for your personal or internal business use. You may not resell, redistribute, or publicly share them without our permission.

Workshop materials — the Blueprint and every template and report format it contains or creates — are covered by the materials license you accept at registration, which governs them specifically.

What you build during the workshop — your own configuration, using your own accounts and data — is yours.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The site and sessions are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. AKKA isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, workshop, or coaching group. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid AKKA in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Termination

We can suspend or end your access to the coaching group or site if you violate these terms. You can cancel your coaching group membership at any time per the cancellation terms in your registration.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute arising out of these terms or your use of AKKA's services will be resolved through binding arbitration, administered by the American Arbitration Association under its rules, with arbitration seated in Massachusetts. You and AKKA each waive the right to bring claims as part of a class action or in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site or continued membership after changes means you accept the updated terms.
